On Making Mistakes

"The sages do not consider that making no mistakes is a blessing. They believe, rather,
that the great virtue of man lies in his ability to correct his mistakes and continually to make a new man of himself."

A View from a Tree

I like to climb trees,
What of it?
It's not like you weren't invited.
I like birds too.
You can't bring me down.

A Meteor

Once I found a smooth round rock split perfectly in half.
I was sure it was a meteor that landed in my yard that night.
It was a size of a cantalope, but shaped like an egg,
and the insides were perfectly layered with little crystals.
I spent a lot of time in my yard.
I knew that it was something new.
It was magical and mysterious to me.
I never bothered asking mother what she thought.
I just just knew it was a meteor
and I was very lucky it landed in my yard.

Unfinished Business

I had a Christmas story I meant to finish before the holiday, but now it seems kinda silly. I guess you'll have to wait till next year. I'll get on it sooner next time:~)

Jim Kane - The Thing That I Love

"All promises feel old, don't believe a thing your told."

Wish Upon a Star

I used to believe in wishes coming true,
in a life of dreams and adventures too.

I used to think you could make me happy,
in a dream life made for two.

I used to think I was wise,
now I know now it's not true.
